In addition, Fairbanks has first-class restaurants, museums, visitor attractions, upscale galleries and specialty shops, Alaska Native culture, historical sites, plus access to the great Alaskan wilderness. The Fairbanks area offers you amenities and adventure in a style that is truly ‘Authentic Alaska’.
Visitors to Fairbanks could easily stay busy and entertained for a week or more! If you’re planning side trips to the Arctic, Denali Park or other areas, allow even more time.

- Rika’s Roadhouse and Landing
- Visit a roadhouse 1 ½ hours away in Delta where old timers traveling from Valdez to Fairbanks would spend 1 of their 3 nights “on the trail.”
- Denali National Park and Preserve
- Just a little over 2 hours away visit Alaska’s #1 attraction, which encompasses 20,320′ tall Mount McKinley, countless other spectacular mountains and many large glaciers. Denali’s grizzly and black bears, wolves, Dall sheep, moose, fox and more make their home in the park. Various tours can be scheduled.
- Chena Lakes Flood Control Project and Recreation Area
- Learn how Fairbanks should never again experience a repeat of the 1967 flood disaster.
